How much does a vasectomy cost in Ireland?

The fee for a vasectomy is €650.

The fee for vasectomy includes all counselling before the procedure, your operation, and postoperative care. There is no extra cost for semen testing following the vasectomy. This is included in your vasectomy fee and is required to ensure the vasectomy has been effective. You generally receive tax relief for health expenses at your standard rate of tax (20%). We can arrange the necessary documentation you may need to claim this. Your health insurance may cover your vasectomy depending on the provider. Please contact your Health Insurer directly to understand your entitlements.

 

Medical Card (GMS Card)

If you hold a GMS Card (Medical Card), you are advised to phone us to enquire as to the cost and current waiting time for medical card patients.

 

Tax Relief on Health Expenses

You can claim relief on the cost of health expenses. These can be for your own health expenses or those of a family member. You can claim relief on health expenses after the year has ended. You generally receive tax relief for health expenses at your standard rate of tax (20%). You can only claim for expenses that you have receipts for. You can claim relief on the last four year’s health expenses. If you have private health insurance you can claim tax relief on the portion of those expenses not covered by your insurer. The quickest and easiest way is using Revenue Online Service MyAccount to complete an Income Tax Return.

 

 

Booking Deposit

We do not take a deposit for bookings unless made directly online. We are happy to reschedule appointments with notice but cancellations within 48 hours or no-shows will lose their €100 deposit.

Irish Life Health

Members can claim up to €360 back on a vasectomy procedure, on a number of plans.

Irish Life

Irish Life Health cover for vasectomies:

“We cover up to €360 towards the cost of a vasectomy on selected Irish life Health plans. This includes any related consultations pre and post procedure. The vasectomy must be carried out by a GP who is registered with the Irish Medical Council.”

Garda Medical Aid

60% to max of €250 towards cost of a vasectomy.

LAYA Healthcare

50% up to a maximum of €250 on selected plans.

VHI Health Insurance

50% up to €250 per lifetime on selected plans
